Here I want to give you an insight into a wonderful hobby,
which I and many other kitefriends conduct.
I myself conduct this hobby since 1990 and I cannot
imagine a better leisure activity for me.
The fiddeling about a new figure,
which can be hung in the air on one way or
another, just makes fun.
I hope you enjoy your stay on my dragon-dragon page.

The dragon-dragon which can be seen further up has a length of 20 meters.
The consumption of material for building this kite was at ca. 200 sqm.
I built this kite in 1996 and it was my first big project.
The biggest problem for me was the construction of the angled legs and the
elliptic approuch of the legs to the body in detail.
After neither looking up formulas nor other calculations were helpful for me,
I decided to build a model of the legs of carton on a scale of 1:20,
which led to success.
The giant red dragon in the foreground consists of ca. 1000 parts,
alone the head consists of more than 100 parts.
I built this dragon-dragon in 1995 inspired by the chinese illustration of the dragon.
Furthermore I had the conception to build a kite which really looks like a dragon.
In the beginning I let it fly in a trapeze of aluminium rods.
Meanwhile I changed the bridle, so the trapeze is not needed anymore.
The consumption of material was ca. 80 sqm, even if this kite is just half so long as his big brother.
