The Suruga has a little story.
It was built at the first time ca. 400 years ago, the reason was the victory in a battle.
The commander let a kite built and let it rise up from a tower of the castle Suruga as a confident of victory.
The Suruga-Kites were traditionally painted with the motive of the warrior.
I did not painted this kite, but I appliqued on a white backround.
It consists of 435 parts and it is equipped with a bamboo rod system,
as tale it uses a 30 m long hemp rope, which ends in a tassel.
The sizes are in the upper width 2,7 m, in the lower width 3,9 m and the height is 3,6 m.
The expanse is ca. 10 sqm. and the building time was ca. 150 hours.
And so it looks like,
when you are building something like this.
